The project helped to conserve the regions biodiversity, improve soil management, riverine water quality and the condition of estuarine and riparian (river) zones. The project was supported by North Coast Local Land Services through funding from the National Landcare Program.
Hastings Landcare was the the contract manager for the Targeted Engagement project which saw 25 restoration projects across the Hastings, Macleay and Nambucca.
Hastings Landcare and North Coast Local Land Services consider that well managed farms are the key in ensuring that we have productive, sustainable landscapes that contribute toward conservation of our regions unique biodiversity. Landowners can help improve the water quality in our creeks, rivers and the health of aquatic ecosystems, which in turn improves productivity for all industries which are dependent on clean water such as agriculture, aquaculture and fisheries.
